Creating a simple, yet beautiful, scene on a shelf to display your favorite things doesn't have to be difficult if you follow 3 simple steps.
1. Utilize something to elevate pieces that have words or a phrase. A simple little stand or a few books works great. Objects that have words on them should always be at or near eye level so the words are easy to read.
2. Plants, either real or fake, add softness to the hard edges of books or framed art. Place 1, 2, or 3 plants of varying textures around the scene.
3. Add in a few smaller items in the foreground. My personal favorites include shells and tiny pieces of art in stand up frames. These should be placed in the front, closest to the viewer.
Most importantly, remember to have fun with it!
